Courses of Instruction
Whether you are a beginner, a novice or an experienced sailor, we can offer you a curriculum that will improve your skills and understanding of the sport. If your particular needs donít exactly fit within the standard curriculum, we will tailor a course of instruction to fit your needs.
Our goal for every student is to develop their competence, which leads to safety, confidence, and enjoyment. We are located near the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London Connecticut at Eastern Yacht Sales.
You're guaranteed to learn more through onboard experience and private lessons of no more than 4 students per class. Classes move progressively out of the beautiful and historic Thames River to Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean as the curriculum raises you to higher levels of skill and confidence.
Captain Terry Leahy (photo left) co-owner, has been teaching ASA certified courses for over 13 years and is a Coast Guard licensed Captain. His lifetime of sailing experience based on cruising, racing and pleasure crafting and teaching in coastal and inland waters, provides him the expertise to tailor instructions to each student's needs.

He began sailing aboard family boats 29 years ago and developed his passion for sailing while experiencing the waters throughout LI & BI and FI Sounds.
